how to find your finger size

There are a few ways to find your or your partner’s ring size. See below the Simply Diamonds guide to figuring out your ring size.

Remember, the size of your finger can change throughout the day and depending on environmental factors, so it’s best to measure your finger when it is at its average size and temperature. It’s also important to note that different countries have different ring size measurements, please see the ring size conversion chart to know what your size is in UK/Aus sizing. Which is what we use on the Simply Diamonds online diamond engagement ring builder.

The most accurate way is to use a Ring Sizer like the one you can download here. Simply print off the ring sizer, cut it out and slide the ring sizer onto your finger until it fits comfortably, then read the size indicated.

When printing make sure that your printer is set to None in the Scalable section. To check that the page has printed to scale there is a section at the bottom of the first page that should measure 2 inches. You can print off at scale our ring size chart to match your existing ring or measure your finger.  Printable Ring Size Chart Click Here

Other methods for knowing your ring size if printing the ring sizer isn’t an option;

Measure your Finger: Another option is to measure your finger using a measuring tape or a strip of paper. Wrap the measuring tape or paper around the base of your finger, where the ring will sit. Mark the spot where the two ends of the tape or paper meet, then measure the distance between the marks using a ruler. This measurement will correspond to a ring size chart.

Use a Ring that Fits: If you already have a ring that fits well on the finger you will wear the ring on, you can use it to determine your ring size. Simply measure the diameter of the inside of the ring in millimetres, and use a ring size chart to find the corresponding size. Or if you have printed our ring sizer to scale you can place the ring over the circles to see which size corresponds to that ring.

Get a Professional Fitting: If you’re unsure of your ring size, or if your finger size changes due to factors like temperature or weight gain/loss, you can also visit a local jeweller for a professional fitting. They will have various ring sizers and can accurately determine your ring size.
